DIN vs EN 1092-1: Current Status

All DIN flange standards have been officially superseded by EN 1092-1 since the European harmonization of the late 1990s. In practice:

  • New projects should reference EN 1092-1
  • Existing plants (especially German-designed) may still use DIN references
  • Dimensions are identical: DIN 2576 = EN 1092-1 Type 01 PN 10
  • Material specs differ: DIN used DIN 17100/17102; EN uses EN 10222/10025
  • CE marking: EN 1092-1 flanges carry CE marking under PED; DIN flanges may not
