0.75 inches Flange Lap Joint 300 Lbs ASTM A105 Product Description

Category: Flange Lap Joint, Flanges, LAP JOINT FLANGE/ASME B 16.5
Material Grade: ASTM A105, Carbon Steel - High Temperature Service

The LAP JOINT FLANGE, designed in accordance with ASME B16.5 standards, is a pivotal component in piping systems, facilitating the assembly and disassembly of pipeline sections for inspection, maintenance, or system modification. This type of flange is particularly suited for applications where piping is frequently dismantled or where there is a need for flexibility due to misalignment or thermal expansion.
Constructed typically from carbon steel (ASTM A105), stainless steel (ASTM A182 F316), or alloy steel (ASTM A182 F11), the lap joint flange offers excellent durability and corrosion resistance. It consists of two parts: the flange itself, which has a curved radius at one end creating a lap, and the stub end, a short length of pipe with a matching radius that is butt-welded to the piping.
This flange is designed to rotate freely around the stub end, making it easier to align with the mating flange. This feature is particularly beneficial in systems requiring bolt alignment in flanged joints. Lap joint flanges are available in sizes from 1/2″ to 24″ and in pressure classes ranging from 150 to 2500, accommodating a wide range of operational pressures and temperatures. They are commonly used in applications involving low-pressure and non-critical processes, such as water distribution, HVAC, and exhaust systems.
